Brian Spears

Brian Spears is an attorney practicing in Atlanta, Georgia, where he has worked in the legal field since 1978.  A considerable portion of his private practice involves allegations of police misconduct and other kinds of civil and constitutional rights violations.  His litigation has also included damages actions directed against neo-nazi’s and Ku Klux Klan activists arising from racially motivated violence and attacks. 

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1971, Mr. Spears received his Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 1975.  He has appeared before courts throughout the Southeastern United States.  He has written many articles in the field of Section 1983 litigation.  Since 1982, Spears assisted in and chaired the convening of an annual Section 1983 Litigation program in Atlanta, Georgia.
